Pre-K Academics
We believe that PreK should be an adventure of learning about the world around us. Your littlest student will never have a dull moment here at GVCSB. Little brains and imaginations are stimulated throughout the day from phonics to music classes. Here are just some of the learning experiences your student can participate in:
- “God-Sighting Walks” – where little tykes learn about the nature around them
- Stuffed Animal Day” – when favorite stuffies teach for the day
- Books studies – where we participate in learning activities inspired by favorite books like “If You Give a Mouse a Cookie”
- Celebrate Letter Day” – when one letter of the twenty-six is focused on via crafts, learning centers, and show & tells complete with matching letter snacks
- Music classes – where little ears experiment with instruments and sounds
Physical education classes – where wiggle worms get to experience the joy of activities and games while moving
Orton Gillingham
Utilizing the Orton Gillingham method, our reading and phonics program is multi-sensory. This means that with every concept we are teaching using three senses: auditory, visual, and kinesthetic – simultaneously in order to enhance learning and meaning. We focus on phoneme, phonemic awareness, and phonological awareness.

We use simple to complex FLEx (formational learning experiences) projects to enhance the learning approach. In this method, the teacher has a theme for the school year and builds the learning around that. For example, one year a teacher used “baby chicks†as a theme.

For families that need extended care hours, GVCS Broadfording has you covered. No more going through your contacts to see who can bring or pick up your children from school.
Our extended care services operate from 6:30-8:15 a.m. and 3:30-6:00 p.m. An additional fee applies.
