Statement Of Faith
Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE:
- That the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, was verbally inspired of God, and is inerrant and is our only rule in matters of faith and practice (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21).
- That Adam and Eve, in yielding to the temptation of Satan, became fallen creatures (Genesis 3).
- In creation, not evolution (Genesis 1); that man was created by the direct act of God and in the image of God (Genesis 1:26, 27).
- That all men are born in sin (Romans 3:23; Romans 5:8-12; Ephesians 2:8-10).
- In the Incarnation (John 1:1), the Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35), and the Deity of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (John 10:33).
- In the vicarious and substitutional Atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross (I Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9).
- In the resurrection of His body from the tomb (John 11:25; I Corinthians 15:4), His ascension to Heaven (Mark 16:19; Acts 1:9-11), and that He is now our Advocate (I John 2:1).
- That He is personally coming again (Acts 1:11; Revelation 19:11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18).
In His power to save men from sin (Ephesians 1; Colossians 1). - In the necessity of the New Birth, and that this New Birth is through the regeneration of the Holy Spirit (John 3:16-21).
- That salvation is by grace through faith, plus nothing, minus nothing, in the atoning blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5).
- That this Statement of Faith is basic for Christian fellowship and that all born-again people who sincerely accept it and are separated from the world of apostasy and sin, can, and should, live together in peace, and that it is their Christian duty to promote harmony among the Believers (Romans 8:9; I Corinthians 12:12-13; Galatians 3:26-28; Ephesians 4:1-6).
The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.
