BCA Academic Program

Broadfording Christian Academy offers a wide range of services, from home schooling and online learning to full time academic

programs PreK-12th grade. Additionally, BCA participates in the Essence Program, an academic option for students seeking to earn dual credit for both college and high school through Hagerstown Community College. Additionally, BCA offers NILD therapy (National Institute for LearningDevelopment), a research-based intervention designed to strengthen students diagnosed with mild learning disabilities.

From college preparatory programs and home schooling to support for students with learning challenges, Broadfording seeks to provide a rigorous academic program from a Biblical worldview, monitoring student progress and providing opportunities for students to become prepared both academically and spiritually for post-secondary life.

Broadfording is accredited by both the Association of Christian Schools Inter-national and the Middle States Commission of Colleges and Schools. As a result of this accreditation status, credits earned at Broadfording are accepted by major colleges and universities across the nation. BCA is registered as a church-exempt school with the Maryland Department of Education.

As a result of our accreditation status and the fact that BCA credits do transfer to major colleges and universities, Broadfording has not found it necessary to obtain listing as an approved school by the Maryland Department of Education at this time, maintaining its church-exempt status.

Broadfording offers College and Career guidance designed to assist parents and students in the college selection process, the application process, and in aquiring information on grants, scholarships and assistance.

Broadfording Christian Academy will select textbooks and materials that we believe will best prepare our students for achieving our mission and for meeting the rigorous demands of the 21st century. Although you will find a number of familiar Christian textbook publishers represented throughout the curriculum (e.g., Bob Jones, Abeka, Purposeful Design), BCA will utilize other text resources to meet the needs of our students (e.g., Sadlier-Oxford, Saxon, Glencoe, etc.) The mission of Broadfording Christian Academy requires that whatever the source of content for instruction, all learning is aligned with the Truth of God's Word and delivered within the context of a Biblical Worldview.
